My Perfect Weekend... |

| Every month, I make it a point to visit a certain place and acquaint myself with its culture, let myself be mesmerized by its breathtaking views, and just wander and discover new places. For this month, I decided to go to Tallahassee, since my friend told me that the place has a lot to offer. So off I went there. And by the way, I went there alone. The morning I arrived at Tallahassee, I immediately booked myself to the town's most talked about inn, the Courtyard at Marriott. Since I was alone, I chose the single bed room, and was awed by the fact that the room was super clean, and the bed was super comfortable. I had a late brunch at New Leaf market, just a couple of blocks away from Marriott. The food was superb, the ambiance, relaxing. I had a very nutritious brunch consisting of veggie salad and the tastiest tuna sandwich I've ever tasted. After having brunch, I decided to visit the galleries, since my friend told me that the galleries in Tallahassee is a must place to visit. First, I dropped by at Signature Galleries, where several paintings of Tallahassee's artists are exhibited. Next, I went to Michaels. Since I am a fine arts student, I took advantage of the paints, and other painting materials' low prices. I even saw one of my friend's painting, which was being auctioned at the said place. After that, I decided to catch the latest indie movie at Miracle Theatre. The cinema was a classic! The theater has a very laid back feel. I even got a discount since I am a student and even got reward points. And yes, the movie being shown that day was excellent. Not too artsy fartsy, and not to mainstream. Come nighttime, I decided to have a taste of the town's nightlife. I've been hearing good things about this place called El Jalisco, so I knew I had to try it myself. And boy, was I right! El Jalisco, Tallahassee's most happening place, offers the best nacho chips in town. And yes, I had my dose of alcohol with their super sexy Margarita. Although the place is located between an adult sex shop and the local “Hooters”, my one night rendezvous at El Jalisco was a BLAST! And oh, I even met new friends, too. The next day, before leaving Tallahassee, I decided to buy something that will make me remember Tallahassee forever. I saw this shop called Other Side Vintage. I gave the shop a try, and I found the perfect souvenir from Tallahassee—a DIY picture frame with my picture on it! Now isn't it cute and nice, taking a piece of their culture with you when you leave the place? All in all, the trip to Tallahassee was FUN. Now who says being alone isn't a good thing after all? |
